Simple CD Info
Developed by mohasi.
Audio CDs on a PS3 now just show “Track 1, Track 2…” because the online service the console used for album and track names was shut down years ago. This plugin brings the real album, artist and track names back, looked up from gnudb (the community successor to CDDB).
- Automatic: no proxy, network settings or menus. Install it and it works in the background.
- Wide coverage: works for most commercial CDs, including many imports and older discs.
- Lightweight: only steps in for the CD lookup and leaves the rest of the console alone.
Installation
- Copy
simple-cd-info.sprxto/dev_hdd0/plugins/. - Open or create
/dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txtand add this line:/dev_hdd0/plugins/simple-cd-info.sprx - Reboot the PS3 (on HEN, enable HEN again).
- Insert an audio CD and open it under Music.
If a disc ever shows blank names, choose Get Track Information from its options (△) and it will fetch them.
