Quick reference
| Console | Model numbers | CFW | HEN |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original (Fat) | CECHA–CECHQ (e.g. CECHA01, CECHL04) | Yes | Yes |
| Slim | CECH-20xx, CECH-21xx | Yes | Yes |
| Slim | CECH-25xx, date code 9x, 0x or 1A | Yes | Yes |
| Slim | CECH-25xx, date code 1B or later | Check | Yes |
| Slim | CECH-30xx | No | Yes |
| Super Slim | CECH-40xx, 42xx, 43xx | No | Yes |
“Check” means it depends on the lowest firmware that console can install. Run MinVerChk from a USB stick: if it says 3.56 or lower, CFW works. Consoles marked “No” can only get CFW with a hardware mod (BadWDSD), which needs soldering.
Information checked October 2026 (latest official firmware 4.93, HFW 4.93.1 with PS3HEN 3.5.0). Sources: ConsoleMods, Brewology.
